Combine lanes concatenates two control bundles into one, preserving every lane without mixing.
What it does#
Input A's lanes come first, followed by input B's lanes, so a two-lane A and a three-lane B give five lanes. Nothing is added or averaged. The node has no parameters. It is the control-domain counterpart of Combine channels.
When to use it#
Use it to gather several single-lane sources into one bundle that travels on one cable, or to join groups of lanes. To add or multiply two signals lane by lane use Math.
Ports#
| Port | Direction | Signal | Lanes |
|---|---|---|---|
a | Input | Control | Inferred from the cable |
b | Input | Control | Inferred from the cable |
control | Output | Control | Inferred from the cable |
Parameters#
This node has no numeric parameters.
Tips#
- Chain two to join three or more bundles.
- The output lane count is the sum of the two inputs.

Help patches
Each help patch is an ordinary Toy that teaches one idea. The diagram shows the Patch; the preview shows its Frame. Open it in TuneToys to play and edit it.
1. Join two control lanes
beginner Teaches: cables
Two constants are joined into a two-lane control bundle.
Connections as text
- Oscillator audio output connected to Patch outputs audio input
- Constant “left” control output connected to Combine lanes a input
- Constant “right” control output connected to Combine lanes b input
- Each constant has one lane. Combine lanes puts them in one bundle: lane 1 from A, lane 2 from B.
- Nothing is mixed.
Related nodes
- Select lanes Extract a contiguous lane range from a control bundle. Use several to split a sensor's lanes.
- Math Arithmetic on any signal, lane by lane: add, multiply, divide, power and more on audio or control operands. The output runs at the rate of its fastest input.
- Combine channels Concatenate two audio buses, preserving every channel without mixing.
