# Get started

> Open a template, play it, edit its Patch, save it and publish it in about five minutes.

Source: https://docs.tune.toys/start/ (updated 2026-11-01)

This path uses a template, so you hear sound in the first minute and change it in the second.

1. Open [tune.toys](https://tune.toys/) and choose **New Toy**. The chooser offers Effect, Instrument, Template and Blank starting points, and AI recipes if generation is enabled. Pick the **Warm Echo** template.
2. Choose **Preview** to hear the template with the included demo input. Browsers only start audio after you click, so nothing plays by surprise.
3. Move the **Time**, **Feedback** and **Mix** controls in the Frame. These are the playable controls the template author placed.
4. Choose **Create**. You now own an independent copy with its own identity. Your earlier work on this device is kept before the new Toy opens.
5. Open **Patch** to see the nodes and cables behind the sound. Select a node and press `F1` or `?` to open its documentation beside the canvas.
6. Open **Frame** to move and restyle the controls. Changing a Frame never changes the sound; changing the Patch never moves a control.
7. Press `Cmd/Ctrl+S` to save. You choose between a copy on this device and an account draft. Saving never publishes.
8. When you want to share it, choose **Publish**, review access (public, unlisted or private), and confirm. Only the server's confirmation shows the success screen and the playable link.
