# Video crossfade

> Blend two streams with one mix control.

Source: https://docs.tune.toys/nodes/video.crossfade/

Video crossfade blends two streams with one mix control.

## What it does

Mix 0 shows only `a` and 1 shows only `b`. Each input takes one stream.

## When to use it

Use it to dissolve between two sources by hand or with a control cable; use [Switcher](https://docs.tune.toys/nodes/video.switch/) for cuts and timed transitions.

## Ports

<!-- ports:start -->

| Port    | Direction | Signal | Lanes |
| ------- | --------- | ------ | ----- |
| `a`     | Input     | Video  | 1     |
| `b`     | Input     | Video  | 1     |
| `video` | Output    | Video  | 1     |

<!-- ports:end -->

## Parameters

<!-- parameters:start -->

| Parameter | Label | Range  | Default | Unit | Scale  | Notes                 |
| --------- | ----- | ------ | ------- | ---- | ------ | --------------------- |
| `mix`     | Mix   | 0 to 1 | 0       |      | linear | 0 shows A, 1 shows B. |

<!-- parameters:end -->

### Mix (`mix`)

Balance between A (0) and B (1).

## Tips

- Drive Mix from a control lane through its `@mix` socket.
- Video needs the browser's WebGPU video engine. The Player and exports do not run video yet and report it unavailable. To see a video output, bind a live Screen in the Frame to it.
