# Blur

> Gaussian blur with a bounded radius at the source resolution.

Source: https://docs.tune.toys/nodes/video.blur/

Blur applies a Gaussian blur with a bounded radius at the source resolution.

## What it does

The radius is in pixels at the source size, from 0 to 64; 0 passes the picture through. It processes every stream of the input at that stream's size and keeps the stream count.

## When to use it

Use it to soften a background, hide detail or smooth a key edge.

## Ports

<!-- ports:start -->

| Port    | Direction | Signal | Lanes                   |
| ------- | --------- | ------ | ----------------------- |
| `video` | Input     | Video  | Inferred from the cable |
| `video` | Output    | Video  | Inferred from the cable |

<!-- ports:end -->

## Parameters

<!-- parameters:start -->

| Parameter | Label  | Range   | Default | Unit | Scale  | Notes                                                       |
| --------- | ------ | ------- | ------- | ---- | ------ | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| `radius`  | Radius | 0 to 64 | 8       | px   | linear | Blur radius in source pixels; 0 passes the picture through. |

<!-- parameters:end -->

### Radius (`radius`)

Blur radius in pixels, from 0 to 64.

## Tips

- Radius is bounded so the cost stays predictable.
- Video needs the browser's WebGPU video engine. The Player and exports do not run video yet and report it unavailable. To see a video output, bind a live Screen in the Frame to it.
