MIDI out is a logical MIDI output port. The host binds it to a device or the DAW; messages leave at their sample offsets.

## What it does

Whatever MIDI arrives at the input is sent out of the Toy to the host. Messages keep their sample offsets within the audio block. Like MIDI in, the node carries a short text label (up to 64 characters), and the person running the Toy chooses the destination device or DAW bus in their MIDI settings. The node has no parameters and no output.

## When to use it

Use it to play an outside synth from a Toy's keyboard or sequencing logic, or to send generated controllers with [Control to MIDI](https://docs.tune.toys/nodes/midi.from-control/). The same MIDI cable can also feed an instrument inside the Toy.

## Ports

<!-- ports:start -->

| Port   | Direction | Signal | Lanes            |
| ------ | --------- | ------ | ---------------- |
| `midi` | Input     | MIDI   | 16 MIDI channels |

<!-- ports:end -->

## Parameters

<!-- parameters:start -->

This node has no numeric parameters.

<!-- parameters:end -->

<!-- data:start -->

- `label`: text.

<!-- data:end -->

## Tips

- A MIDI cable can fan out, so one keyboard can drive an internal instrument and an output at the same time.
- Destination devices are local settings and never saved in the Toy.
