# Recorder

> Record a video stream to a file while Record is on. Audio joins when external audio buses land.

Recorder records a video stream to a file while Record is on.

## What it does

FPS and Bitrate set the recording quality. The file is saved to the device when recording stops; the Toy never uploads it. Audio in recordings comes later.

## When to use it

Use it to keep the result of a filter chain or a switcher.

## Parameters

### Record (`record`)

Records while on.

### Frame rate (`fps`)

Frames per second of the recording, from 10 to 60.

### Bitrate (`bitrate_mbps`)

Video bitrate in megabits per second. It is logarithmic.

## Tips

- Stop recording to finish the file.
- Video needs the browser's WebGPU video engine. The Player and exports do not run video yet and report it unavailable. To see a video output, bind a live Screen in the Frame to it.
